Los Angeles, California - The United States Golf Association (USGA) has announced a record-breaking purse of $20 million for the 2023 U.S. Open, to be held at the Los Angeles Country Club from June 15-18.

The total purse represents a significant increase from the previous record of $12.5 million set in 2021 at Torrey Pines.

The winner of the tournament will receive a check for $3.6 million, up from $3.15 million in 2022.

All players who make the cut will earn at least $10,000, ensuring a significant payday for those who qualify for the weekend rounds.

The announcement of the increased purse is a reflection of the growing popularity and prestige of the U.S. Open, one of the four major championships in golf.

The tournament is expected to attract a field of the world's top players, including Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Tiger Woods.
